The Best Time to Go

The season for Alaska Cruises is the end of April to approximately the third week in September. The early sailings in May and the last sailings in September after Labor Day are always less expensive if you are watching your budget. The remaining months of June, July and August are all considered high season and the prices are usually fairly equal throughout that time period.

Who Goes There...Big Ships and Small Ships

There are literally 100's of sailing possibilities available at any given time to this destination. Some of the luxury cruise lines do offer Alaska Cruises, but not on a regular basis as their fleets are not of the size that they can send one of their ships back to Alaska year after year. As a rule...it is best to check with us if you are interested in traveling to Alaska on Crystal Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Yachts Of Seabourn or Silversea Cruises for the small ship cruise experience. The large cruise ship companies of Carnival, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises all send a considerable number of their fleet to service this short season destination, so we'll surely have the right Alaska Cruise itinerary in store for you.

Cruise West, a small, more soft adventure type of trip does go to Alaska every year. Because their ships are so much smaller than the other cruise lines, they are able to take you much closer to the coastline glaciers. However, they are not able to offer the entertainment and shipboard activities that you may have come to enjoy and expect on a cruise vacation from other cruise lines.
