MS Amalegro, a ship built in 2007, along with her sister ships MS Amacello, MS Amadante, and MS Amalyra, raise the bar in style and amenities in European river cruising by offering interesting features that no other European river cruise ship can come close to matching for the North American traveller. Great Views Abound

There are 2 great lounges located on the Upper Deck. Each offers a panoramic river view. The Panorama Lounge which accommodates up to 150 passengers, and there is also the smaller Adagio Lounge in the Aft of the ship, which is a wonderful location for group meetings and parties. An elevator makes for easy access to all four decks aboard this ship. This is truly a unique benefit they have provided and very rarely found a river ship.

Staterooms

Inside your beautifully decorated stateroom that measures a spacious 170 square feet you will find all the amenities of a fine hotel, with white-on-white plush bedding, as well as a cozy sitting area. You may choose to enjoy an evening 'in' by using the entertainment options provided via flat screen television with what they call an 'Infotainment System' which includes free internet access, and a movie and music library for your viewing pleasure. Your cabin will also include a hair dryer, safe, bathrobes, individually controlled air -conditioning and spacious closets. All 71 staterooms and the 4 Jr. Suites offer a river view; and a full 80% feature large French balconies, which really allows for maximum enjoyment of the scenery along the river when relaxing in your stateroom. The Jr. Suites are upgraded further to provide 255 square feet of room. They feature a comfortable sitting area with a sofa and two chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows with French balconies and extra large bathrooms with bathtubs and showers. If you are considering one of these suites be sure to make your reservation early as they usually are the first to be sold out.

Dining

All the menus have been created with the route in mind and especially for Brendan River Cruises by esteemed European chefs. Local ingredients are used whenever possible and regional specialties are often part of the nightly menu. The breakfast selections include a special 'Hot Station' for custom dishes prepared to your specific request. All meals are served in a single open seating style, allowing you the maximum flexibility of dining companion choice. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and dinner is a sit down affair. Bar and wine are included with dinner - another special detail Brendan has provided for your benefit.

Entertainment

We mentioned the in cabin Infotainment System, but there is also nightly entertainment provided with the emphasis being on the region being visited. Folkloric shows are presented and there is a lovely piano bar on board with a dance floor provided for the dancers on board, or you can just enjoy an evening cocktail, listen to the music and enjoy a warm conversation with a fellow passenger.

Wellness Program

You don't have to leave your fitness program at home when selecting this ship. She offers numerous options to work out. You may use the equipment provided in the fitness room with its' glassed in walls for great views while you work out, or walk the deck on the walking track. There is a whirlpool on board as well as a masseuse to massage away the kinks. When visiting the smaller port towns you may opt for taking one of the bicycles they keep on board to explore.
